Building Tomorrow envisions a better future. To ensure all children can access quality education, we partner with communities in East Africa to build foundational skills and strengthen education systems through trained Community Education Teams. By mobilizing communities around education, we are reducing learning poverty through locally-led, community-centered solutions.

Community-powered programming
We combine our signature Roots to Rise program, community mobilization, and local government engagement to deliver a comprehensive, systems-level solution advancing foundational learning.

How we work
A proven model delivering results
We believe real change happens through collaboration. Our model combines community mobilization, teacher and volunteer training, and partnerships with local and national governments.
Building Tomorrow Fellows fuel work by training Community Education Volunteers and teachers to deliver Roots to Rise in communities and help out-of-school children return to class. Fellows alumni partner with local leaders to facilitate sustainable programming and bolster the education system.
