James Habyarimana is a Distinguished Professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy. His research is focused on identifying low-cost strategies to address barriers to better health and education outcomes in developing countries. Ongoing projects include research to understand the effectiveness of community driven development programs and strategies to improve teacher effectiveness in Tanzania.

He serves on the Global Innovation Fund board and is a member of GiveWell’s Research Advisory Council. He has served as a member/chair of Global Partnership for Education (GPE)’s Independent Technical Review Panel. He is a founding member and former co-Director of Georgetown University’s Initiative on Innovation, Development and Evaluation (gui2de). He is a BREAD Fellow, an affiliate of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and has been a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development. Habyarimana joined Building Tomorrow’s Board in 2020.

Randy Kaltenmark is a partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Kaltenmark is also a former Chair and active member of the Taxation Sections of the Indiana State Bar Association and Chair of the Taxation Committee of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Kaltenmark has served on Building Tomorrow’s Board since 2011.

Stephen is a community development practitioner and co-founder of Kisoboka Africa, an organization that creates economic opportunities for women, youth, and children in rural Uganda.

In addition to being a former Building Tomorrow Fellow, Stephen is a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow, a Collaborative Learning Initiative Fellow, a YALI RLC East Africa alumnus, a 2018 Queen`s Young Leader, an Acumen Fellow, and a 2016 World Bank Blog4Dev winner. He is a certified business coach who enjoys mentoring women and youth in rural Uganda to start businesses for themselves.

Jerry Langley is currently Emeritus Teaching Professor at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. From 1999 to retirement in 2018, Langley taught courses on Commercial Banking, Bond Issue Process, Global Finance Management, and more in the undergraduate, MBA, and executive MBA programs; additionally, he taught several courses in non-degree programs in Executive Education. Prior to joining the faculty at Notre Dame, from 1982 to 1999, Langley served as Director, International Finance and eventually Vice President—Global System Finance for McDonald’s Corporation. Before McDonald’s, he was Senior Vice President and Manager, International Banking Department for 11 years at American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago.

Langley received his MBA from Northwestern University in 1971 and CPA certificate in 1975 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Langley served as a Trustee and member of various committees for the national Arthritis Foundation from 1976-2015 and was National Chair of the Arthritis Foundation from 1994-1996. He is currently a long-serving board member and former Chair of both the Notre Dame Federal Credit Union and Volunteers of America.

Harriet Nannyonjo has over 30 years of development experience and is currently a Program Manager with the World Bank Education Global Practice. She also serves on the Finance and Risk Committee of the Global Partnership for Education Board. She has worked extensively on education in Africa, Latin America and Caribbean and Middle East and North Africa Regions.

She has led work on school leadership and school effectiveness, skills development, early childhood development, teacher effectiveness, and education system development. Harriet has undertaken research and authored on education effectiveness, school leadership, teacher policies, secondary education and training, human development, and skills and growth. She has a PhD in Education from University of Cork.

Micheline Ntiru brings over 20 years of experience in development finance, impact investment, and international development across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States. She has led and advised programs in youth skills development, education technology, public health, and food security across Africa.

Her leadership background includes senior roles with the International Finance Corporation and Nokia, where she specialized in impact investment and technology innovation. At the Stanford University accelerator Stanford Seed, she advised small businesses in over 30 African countries and India. She currently serves as an advisor to EHA Impact Ventures (EIV) and as a Venture Partner with the Delta 40 impact fund.

Micheline is a board member of LEAP Africa, E Health Africa, and I&M Bank, and sits on the investment committees of Kenya Climate Ventures and ATG Samata. She holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge, an MSc from Tufts University, and a BS from Mount Holyoke College. A certified executive coach, she speaks nine languages.

Michael Stayton is a retired businessman. Formerly, he was the founder, President and CEO of the United States Infrastructure Corporation, the largest utility contract-locating firm in the United States. From 2002-2007, he served alongside the late Honorary Board Member Jim Morris as Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer for the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), the largest international humanitarian agency in the world. Stayton is a graduate of Wabash College and George Washington University. He joined Building Tomorrow’s Board in 2013.
